ONE OF MY FAVORITE SOUPS

This is a hearty, spicy , "stick -to-your-ribs winter soup. This recipe is from an old friend of mine, Maria. Broth is onion, celery and carrots (the more betocarotene,the better), leek, some beef and of course,chicken. The "quadretti" the most savory part is made of semolina, butter, eggs, parmigiano cheese, pepper and lots of grated nutmeg. It is filling and delicious!

COLDEST DAY OF THE YEAR

After spending a lot of time outdoors, I came home and had a bowl of hot beef stew and apple pie with vanilla ice cream. In the summer I'll often think of the snow on those hot, balmy days. Especially with global warming.
